About

Dr. Dakari Quimby, Ph.D.

I'm Dr. Dakari (he/him), a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY31574) based in Los Angeles California. I have 9+ years of experience providing trauma-informed, strength based, and culturally responsive services. The therapeutic approach that I practice involves using an integration of multicultural, relational, and cognitive-behavioral (CBT) evidence based frameworks. I believe the clinical specialization acquired through my career makes me well-positioned to help guide you on your path of mental wellbeing.

I have worked in a variety of settings including positions at the University of Chicago Stress, Trauma and Resilience (U-STAR) Clinic practicing trauma informed mental health services and more recently spending three years providing psychological assessment, therapy, and consultation at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). These experiences have led me to find a passion in promoting healing among people of color and all communities through culturally centered care.

I earned my BA at Washington University in St. Louis and completed a PhD in clinical psychology at Loyola University Chicago (LUC). I currently serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry & the Behavioral Sciences in the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California
